How to Use a Facebook Auto Poster

facebook auto posterFacebook auto poster is a great way to automate your marketing efforts.  If you are an entrepreneur or a social media marketer, you clearly understand the importance of using automation to save time. If you are new to social media marketing, however, you may be unfamiliar with the concept.  This will be a brief overview of what is a Facebook auto poster, how and why you should use one to save time, and what to not do with one.

What is a Facebook Autoposter?

A Facebook auto poster is software that you can run on your desktop computer to automatically post messages to the Facebook groups that you belong to.  Posting to Facebook groups may be a strategy you haven’t incorporated into your marketing efforts, but it’s one you should strongly consider.  And here’s why:

Right now we’re looking at a world population of 7.25 billion people. And as of June 2015, there are 1.44 billion Facebook users in total. Of this number, close to 600 million of those Facebook users are interacting in Facebook groups. And that comes to about 41 percent of Facebook users spending time networking in groups. So this means if you’re not marketing to groups on Facebook, you could potentially be ignoring close to half of your target audience.

In addition, Facebook users spend nearly 16 percent of the total time they spend browsing the internet on Facebook. So when people are online, they’re spending a significant portion of that time on Facebook. And to put it into even more perspective, 70 percent of Facebook users login at least once per day. And 40 percent of users check their Facebook more than once per day, with the average Facebook visit being 20 minutes.

What all these numbers boil down to is this. If you’re seriously trying to get more eyeballs to see your marketing message, practically everyone you would ever need to market to is spending a significant amount of their time on Facebook and in Facebook groups.

With a Facebook auto poster, now you don’t have to sit at your computer all day copying and pasting your text and hitting the post button to post to hundreds of groups each day.  That would drive you crazy because it’s so boring.  You can simply write your text into the software one time, add your picture (if you so choose) and click the post button, and your autoposter will post to all your groups on autopilot.  Check out this demonstration of how Facebook group poster works:

How to Use a Facebook Group Poster

A good autoposter not only post to groups for you, it also helps you find groups to join, and joins them for you as well.

Step 1. Find the right groups to join.

The first thing you should do with any good Facebook autoposting software is find the groups you want to join and post to.  You should decide which keywords are contained in the name of the groups you want to join and then input those keywords into the software.  A well designed software will make this process easy and not require much from you other than inputting or uploading your list of keywords and then clicking a button to find the groups.

Step 2. Join the groups on autopilot.

The next thing you want your autoposter to do is join the groups you just found.  This can be done by uploading the list of urls for the groups you just found and clicking a button to join the groups.  One thing you need to be careful of is not joining groups to fast, because you could possibly get blocked.  That’s why it’s important to get familiar with the timing settings of your Facebook posting software, to be sure you’re joining groups at an acceptable rate.  If you receive a warning from Facebook, just wait a day or two and resume joining groups at a slower pace.

Step 3. Download the list of groups you have joined

This is important because you can only post to groups that you have joined and actually been approved by the group administrator.  It is not possible to post to Facebook groups that you are not a member of, even if it is a public group. So your next step is to download the groups that you have joined and been accepted to.

Step 4. Create a Do Not Post List

Creating a Do Not Post List is a crucial step and is a precaution you need to take in order to have the best chance of not getting blocked by Facebook.  You may belong to some groups that you like to interact in, but are not related to the product or service that you promote using an autoposter.  In order to avoid annoying the members with posts that are not relevant to the mission of those groups, you need to create a list of groups that you don’t want to post to.  This can be done by downloading the group descriptions and reading through them to find and eliminate the ones that are not good candidates for auto posting.

Step 5.  Auto Post to your Facebook Groups

Now that you have eliminated the groups you don’t want to post to, you can begin posting to you Facebook groups and promoting your product or service.  It is a good idea to spin your message as well as any links you are posting so Facebook doesn’t detect any patterns, i.e. so you don’t look like you’re posting the same message over and over.  It’s also a good idea to start out slowly using the timing settings, so it doesn’t seem like you’re posting too fast.  Try to start with the default timing settings or even slower if you’ve ever been blocked by Facebook in the past.

How to Not Use a Facebook Auto Poster

While an autoposter is a powerful piece of software, it does not protect you from the wrath of Facebook.  The best way to use the software is to use it to automate tasks that you would normally do manually.  Think of it as an autopilot rather than a turbo-boost.  Facebook has very sophisticated spam detection algorithms, and any time they identify activity they consider spammy, you have the potential to get blocked.  Software will not protect you, but if you use it in a sensible fashion and don’t abuse it, you have a great chance of staying under the radar. Here are a few tips for what to do and what not to do when using facebook auto posting software.

Don’t post with a brand new, unseasoned account.

Facebook places a lot of scrutiny on brand new accounts in its efforts to prevent spam.  You want to season any new accounts you create by using it as a normal account for the first month or so after creating it.  Add friends, completely fill out the profile information, make sure it is phone verified, add pictures and posts and interact with other users.  Once you have a fully built out profile that is at least a month old, it is a lot safer to start joining and posting to groups.

Don’t join groups too rapidly, especially in the beginning.

While each account is different, it’s a good idea to join 100 groups or fewer each day until you determine what level of activity Facebook will tolerate from your account.  Once you find that Facebook is allowing your account to join this amount of groups consistently, then you can try to join more.  Monitor this very closely, however, and heed any warnings or captchas that pop up or you run the risk of getting blocked.

Don’t promote in groups where promoting is not allowed.

Make sure to comb your list of groups and create a do not post list to ensure you are posting where you posts are welcomed.  You don’t want to be reported by an admin or group member that your message is unwanted or spam.  That is another way you can get blocked by Facebook.

Don’t post to groups too rapidly.

Just like joining groups, be cognizant of the amount of groups you’re posting to daily as well as how frequently you post.  Settings vary from individual to individual, so it’s safer to start slowly and increase your total number of groups only when you’ve determined that Facebook will tolerate.  Marketing is all about testing what works and what doesn’t work so check your results and adjust where necessary.

Do spin your content.

Another way to make your activity look natural is to spin your content so that you are not posting the identical message in each group.  Typically the syntax for spinning your content is {message 1|message 2}.  You can also spin individual words in your messages for additional variety.  Be sure to spin your links too.  This is a good way to keep your links from being overused and subsequently blocked.

Protect your IP Address.

If any account at your location has ever been flagged or banned or put in jail by Facebook in the past, they are ALREADY monitoring your IP address for high levels of activity. Your IP Address is not the address of an individual computer, it is the address of your Router. So if any account from any computer has ever been banned, your Router’s IP Address is being watched. If that’s the case, you could be banned again with a different account even on default settings.

To prevent this, use a VPN to Mask your IP Address when using the software. That way, if your account does get flagged, you can just use a different account and get a different IP Address. Even if you have never been flagged, it is a good idea to USE A VPN when running the software. Just in case. Facebook is very unpredictable.

Conclusion

There are Facebook groups for practically any niche.  Often your best prospects are members of groups, and a Facebook auto poster software is a great tool to use to promote your product or service to them for free.  It will eliminate the need for you to spend hours and hours in front of the computer copying and pasting the same message over and over, giving you time for more productive activities, like customer followup or relationship building.
